The Brethren Retreat at Shipshewana Lake has three Cozy Cottages available for family escapes and small groups of friends. All of our Cottages offer complimentary bed and bath linens to enhance our guest’s restful stay with us. All our cottages are home style cottages that include a kitchen stocked with cookware and tableware. Our kitchens offer a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and a Complimentary Hot Beverage Basket. Please…. No Pets & Smoking. We are an Alcohol FREE Facility.

CANDY COTTAGE
The Candy Cottage served as the candy store for summer youth attending Bible camps in the 1950’s. The Candy Cottage offers an open concept floor plan with a spacious kitchen/dining/sitting room. The decor is earthtone browns with cranberry reds and Apple-Cinnamon aromatherapy. There are two private bedrooms each with a queen bed that allows four guests to sleep comfortably. The bathroom provides the option for a quick shower or a tub for a relaxing bubble bath. Bed & bath linens are provided. The Candy Cottage has window AC units to aid our guest’s comfort. There is a fully functional kitchen with cookware. A wooden deck creates opportunities for BBQs*, making homemade ice cream and casual conversations
The fee is $110.00/ night for two guests. Please add $24.00/night additional guest(s). We offer a free night with a reservation for six consecutive nights. Thus, the fee for a week-long stay in the Candy Cottage for two guests would be only $660.00 plus 8% for the LaGrange County innkeepers tax.

*For an extra fee we can set up a third double bed or a set of bunk beds to accommodate additional guests. A grill can be added for an additional $25 to cover cleaning and fuel.
LAKEVIEW COTTAGE
The Lakeview Cottage is a spacious one bedroom with a queen bed. There is also a set of bunks and a double bed loft in the common area. This cottage sleeps seven guests comfortably. The bathroom provides the option for a quick shower or a tub for a relaxing bubble bath. Bed & bath linens are provided. The common area offers rustic hardwood floors and pine wall planks. A sweet garden scent creates a relaxing aromatherapy. Two large windows allow for a peaceful northward view across our park to the lakefront. Lakeview is fully equipped with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, and tableware. Central AC is provided. This cottage decorated with rich red kitchen, pastel blue bedroom, and a sunny yellow bathroom.
The fee for the Lakeview Cottage is $85.50/night for two guests. Please add $20.00/night for each extra guest. We offer a free night with a reservation for six consecutive nights. Thus, the fee for a week-long stay in the Lakeview Cottage for two guests would be only $513.00 plus 8% for the LaGrange County innkeeper’s tax.

SUNFLOWER COTTAGE
The Sunflower Cottage (Channel View) is a spacious modular home built in 1986. Sunflower offers a yellow, brown and gray décor highlighted by sunflowers with woodsey aromatherapy. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom offers a double bed. The other bedroom offers a double bed and a twin bed. There are two sets of bunk beds in the common area. This cottage can sleep 9 guests. Bed & bath linens are provided. The Sunflower Cottage has window AC units to aid our guest’s comfort. There is a fully functional kitchen with cookware. A rear deck with fire pit and table with a wilderness view creates opportunities for a picnic meal. A spacious common area offer may option for conversation, group dinners, games, crafting, and leadership meetings.
The fee for the Sunflower Cottage is $165.00/night for two guests. Please add $35.00/night for each extra guest. We offer a free night with a reservation for six consecutive nights. Thus, the fee for a week-long stay in the Sunflower Cottage for two guests would be only $990.00 plus 8% for the LaGrange County innkeeper’s tax.
EASTBAY COTTAGE
The Eastbay Cottage (Lakefront view) is a cute dollhouse which was built in 1900 as a restaurant for early 20th century tourists and fisherman who enjoyed Shipshewana Lake. Eastbay offers a country blue and pastel yellow decor with chamomile/lavender aromatherapy. A loft bedroom sleeps five guests in two double beds and a twin. A queen bed is available on the ground floor too. All sleeping areas are open concept (no doors). Bed and bath linens are provided. The Eastbay cottage has window units to aid our guest’s comfort. There is a fully functional kitchen including cookware. A patio area with fire pit and table creates opportunities for a picnic meal. A nice sitting room offers a view of sunsets on the lake to wind down your day.
